Baked Beans

Ingredients:Resource from passionrecettes.com

2 cups Dried white beans

1 Onion, chopped

1/4 cup Pork fat, cut into pieces

2 tbsps White vinegar

1 tbsps Brown sugar

1 tsp Salt

1/4 cup Molasses

1/4 cup Ketchup

1/2 tsp Dry mustard

salt and pepper to taste


Directions:

1. Soak the beans with cold water overnight.

2. The next day, place the white beans in a pot and simmer for 30 minutes.

3. Add to an dutch oven pot, the beans, pork fat, vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup, dry mustard and salt and pepper. Mix

4. Cover the beans with boiling water and cover the pot. Cook for 6-8 hours in a 300F oven.

5. Uncover the pot 30 minutes before. Add boiling water as needed in order to keep the beans covered. Mix occasionally and avoid adding water in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
