Ingredients: Resource from Yonnie Lai
1 whole chicken (2-3 pounds)
4 bunches of green onions
7 slices of ginger
1 cup of chicken broth
Marinade
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
2 tbsp cooking wine
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp sugar
Preparation:
Scrub the entire chicken with salt while washing it, then rinse off, pat the chicken dry
Use ⅔ of the marinade to rub the chicken
Put 2 bunches of green onions & 2 slices of ginger inside chicken cavity
Lay 2 bunches of green onions & 4 slices of ginger at the bottom of the rice cooker, as well as the broth
Put the chicken into the rice cooker, breast side down. Cook for 40 mins.
Note: I also have cooked a whole chicken in an instant pot with good results.
